Seit Jahrtausenden steht Keramik im Dienst des Alltags und ist dennoch zugleich ästhetisches Objekt.
Das Unregelmässige und das Unvorhersehbare der antiken Stücke machen den Reiz der Gebrauchskeramik aus Süditalien aus. Das Ungekünstelte und Direkte interpretieren wir mit unseren heutigen Augen gern als Poesie. Und da ist sicherlich auch das Haptische, das spürbar Handgemachte, das zur Faszination dieser einfachen Gegenstände beiträgt.

Ceramics have been used in everyday life for thousands of years, yet they are also aesthetic objects. The irregular and unpredictable nature of ancient pieces is what makes utilitarian ceramics from southern Italy so appealing. With our modern eyes, we like to interpret the unaffected and direct as poetry. And there is certainly also the haptic, the palpable handmade quality that contributes to the fascination of these simple objects.
