The products of Austrian ceramicist Matthias Josef Kaiser are distributed all over the world and are highly sought after.
The production of each piece involves an enormous amount of work in terms of clay production and glazing.

A dark, iron-rich stoneware clay was used for the bowl.
Before the bisque firing, the bowl was engobed with Taiwanese clay.
Over the engobe is a glaze made from snail shells, which were melted in the hot kiln and now give the bowl an interesting texture.
